Many of my clients are pounding the pavement to build relationships to grow their business. Networking might be the most powerful way to jumpstart your business. It never fails. But part of your networking strategy needs to be a strong LinkedIn profile and an even stronger strategy. What is holding you back?
Much strategy goes into building your profile page. Everything matters–from your profile photo to your background image to your title and summary. As entrepreneur and/or business owner, you need to consider how to reach your ideal client/customer or power partner. Do not use LinkedIn to build a resume but communicate what you do for your clients. People do not read anymore. Say the most important points in the first few sentences of your summary. Use testimonials where you can.
LinkedIn strategy is about leveraging your connections and building a strategy to connect with them. Connecting with the people in your networks on LinkedIn will give you a bigger boost than peppering strangers with unsolicited InMail messages. Personalize your request for connections. It will be very much appreciated. You can leverage any association, business group, list of business lunch attendees and so much more. The bigger your LinkedIn network, the more people you reach.
Stay in front of all your connections. Post, share, like, comment on a daily basis. If any of your connections needs your services, they will surely remember you and reach out. Use LinkedIn messenger to reach out. Have conversations through LinkedIn. It is so much easier to engage than old-fashion email. Try it. You will not regret it.
